Spinet (transverse) by Crudeli, G

The instrument is housed in a painted case—85 cm wide, 49 cm deep, and 18 cm high—that appears to predate the spinet itself. The painting on the exterior, depicting a reclining figure amidst Baroque ornamentation, has faded significantly; the painting on the inside of the lid shows Artemis (Diana) bathing, surrounded by putti, as a nymph draws her attention to Actaeon, who is spying on her.  This is marked as possibly being his first work.
