This square piano was made by Thomas Walker in Baltimore, Maryland around 1814-1819. According to Baltimore city directories, Walker was at 5 East Street from 1811 to 1819. Thomas Walker was the partner of Henry W. Grewe until 1814. There are no other extant pianos by Thomas Walker. This piano has a compass of FF-c4, an English single action with escapement, leather hammers, double-strings throughout, the first ocatave is wound, tuning pins on the right, 2 pedals (missing), wood frame, and a mahogany (?) case
