Cawton Aston (born 3 February, baptised 4 March 1677/78 – d. after 1741) was an English harpsichord and spinet maker based in London, renowned for his craftsmanship in producing keyboard instruments during the late Baroque period. Active from the 1690s until at least the early 1740s, he specialized in spinets, with surviving examples dated 1709, 1726, and 1733, though no harpsichords attributed to him are known to have survived.[1] Born as the son of David and Mary Aston in the City of London, he was apprenticed to the prominent instrument builder John Player in 1693, serving an eight-year term before gaining freedom in the Joiners' Company in 1705
