The Masia d'en Cabanyes in Vilanova i la Geltrú, Spain, is home to a rare cabinet piano built by Muzio Clementi around 1820. The instrument was purchased directly from Clementi’s London workshop by Josep Anton de Cabanyes and was famously transported to Catalonia aboard a vessel carrying liquor, reflecting the international trade networks through which fine musical instruments travelled in the early nineteenth century
