Cabinet Piano by Stein, F

Key range: Contra-C – f4 (six octaves and a fourth). The lower keys are inlaid with ivory, whilst the upper keys are made of ebony. The upright piano has a double-stringed action running in a straight line and the mechanism typical of such upright instruments. It is fitted with two wooden pedals for piano and forte. The instrument is veneered in dark-stained cherry wood. The upper panel, flanked by columns, is adorned with an oil print depicting a girl playing the zither in the evening sunshine; mirrors are fitted on either side of the picture. The entire outer edge of the case is edged with beaded moulding. The lower frame consists of a double door.
