The range of the keyboard: Contra-F – f4 (six octaves). The lower keys are fitted with ivory, the upper keys with ebony. The unadorned instrument is veneered in mahogany and rests on four square, tapered legs. It has single-stringed voicing in the lowest octave and double-stringed voicing elsewhere, and features a Viennese action with brass caps and triggers. A forte pedal is fitted; a wooden frame lined with green silk, which covers the entire interior, serves to dampen the sound.
